At Hej!Workshop Greenwich, we believe in nurturing ways of working and living that can be sustainably supported by our planet.
We're lucky that the workspace has been furnished by IKEA who puts sustainability at the heart of everything they do. Indeed, our IKEA Greenwich store is one of the most environmentally sustainable IKEA stores in the world!
A handful of the store's initiatives:
Renewable materials were used in its construction in 2018, receiving an 'Outstanding' BREEAM certification.
Multiple green technologies are in operation, including solar panels, rainwater harvesting, sensor-operated taps and grey water treatment to reduce water consumption by 50%.
The store is on the way to achieving 100% renewable energy and the interior has huge windows and lots of natural light, reducing dependence on electric artificial lighting.
They run a Circular Hub (re-shop and re-use), furniture buy-back schemes and appliance and mattress recycling.
Spare parts for products are available in our Customer Service area to ensure our products go further.
We're very happy to be located in this store so we can bring the sustainability benefits to our Hej!Workshop customers too.
